The station Belgrade, on the outsides of the city, became an occupation for refugees more than a year ago, no man’s land, bearing the frost maximums up to -15º. Extreme temperatures where the risk of freezing was another of the dangers to happen inside a road full of blows, scorns, fears, abuses and extortions on the part of the frontier workers and smugglers. Abandoned hangars with roofs and windows broken, no beds, heating, water, or toilets. Improvised beds made with blankets and wet cartons, tents or woods rotted by dampness on the floor.
To keep warm and prepare hot meals , they was created improvised fires with great risks to their health (by the smoke generated by the garbage being burned) and safety. The population comprised 70% between the ages of 8 to 30 years, about 1200 people (the exact number is not possible to known because it was one of the places where they were not called in queues to collect fingerprints, like this in any Border that were intercepted, are deported from the country of their capture to where they imprinted the prints, retreating to the exit box again). Workers, craftsmen, university students, civil servants from Afghanistan and Pakistan (the latter considered to be emigrants because they did not come from a country at war).
A camp full of men, no woman, since it was a stop more or less near the border, and a trip in advance. They needed to be free of «cargas» to drag so they could run as soon as circumstances permitted. Most of the time resorting to mafias of human trafficking in search of help for a very high price. In their countries of residence they left mothers, brothers, women and children in the hands of the Taliban to reach Europe and obtain money as it were to facilitate their escape from the daily terror of war. Talking with them, stories become scripts of ultimate terror. Many show you the footprints left on the skin due to the beatings and conditions of the trip.
